I loo...Thanks for the thought provoking question. <br />I look at it this way:<br />There's only one way to be the church: that's to join other believers in the mystical body of Christ gathered around the Word and the Sacrament. <br />How exactly do we gather as church? That's a whole other question. There's little doubt in my mind that being physically present is part of the equation.<br />Looking back there's always been more than one way to share the Word of God. Some people share it online, others out loud, 1000 years ago scribes recorded it and passed it on while others preached it. There's a difference though between sharing the word and living in the church as community.
